April Happenings at Paintertainment

Well, once again I've been posting on Facebook a lot and haven't kept up on my blog! So, for my blog readers, here are some of the things I've been up to lately!

Being that I live in the same state as Prince and drive by Paisley Park every week, I thought I should paint some sort of Prince tribute last week! Here's what I came up with...

I also had fun creating this colorful entry for a challenge on the FABAIC Forum Facebook page:

(No, I did not paint both hands...this one was mirrored in Photoshop to complete the peace sign!)

I can't believe I landed third place among all the amazing entries!!  Like my free e-newsletter said this month, I love to enter competitions and challenges just for the creative things they make me paint that I never would have thought to do otherwise!  Getting a win or a even a mention is totally icing on the cake!

This month Illusion is doing a "WOW" themed competition, so this was my entry:

I have been wanting to try the ol' "hole in the hand" trick for a while now, and finally gave it a try recently. Here's my attempt, with my hand on my sketchbook:

This was super fun...I'm sure I'll be trying more of these!
I've added a few more fun items to the shop recently as well! This week I've added a few large Global rainbow cakes:

These are so super bright!!  I've already tried the Positano cake (bottom left) and am in love...you can bet I will be adding more larger split cakes to the store with each new order I make from here on out!

We've also added this super cool drippy skull stencil:

You can find it here for $4.00!

Right now I'm busy prepping for my upcoming workshops!!  One week from today I will be traveling to New Jersey to speak at the New Jersey Face and Body Art Guild's monthly meeting!  I'll be demonstrating some designs from my "Painting Boys" book, and some other fun boy designs!

The next day, Thursday, March 5th I'll be offering two half-day workshops.  There's a ton of great stuff to cover in both workshops! Click here to learn more about the workshops and register for your spot!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and happy painting!! :-)
