Celebrate Day 112: "Earth Day!"

Happy Earth Day!!  This camouflage painting posed some challenges I didn't expect! When painting against a spherical background, the alignment of everything changes drastically depending on what angle you are viewing the design, so I really should have kept my own viewing angle the same throughout the painting, rather than turning as I went to get a straight on view of the globe.  But I'm loving all the lessons I'm learning from these challenges, which I never would have learned otherwise!

Celebrate Day 111: "World Creativity & Innovation Day!"

Today is world creativity and innovation day!  Unfortunately I didn't have a ton of time for today's painting but I thought I'd do a modern take on the light bulb, a symbol for ideas and innovation, by painting a compact fluorescent bulb! ;-)

Celebrate Day 109: "Bicycle Day!"

Happy Bicycle Day! Since I already did a bike design last summer of a fun retro bike, I thought I'd dig a little deeper with this one and went with a classic, epic movie scene that involves a bike!  :-)

Here's a retro bike design I did last summer!

Celebrate Day 97: "Beaver Day!"

Today is Beaver Day!  For today's painting Toby let me try out a beaver design on him.  I attempted to make little beaver hands holding a chewed log, though they are hard to see...I think if I did this again I'd just have Toby hold a real log! ;-). But, it was fun to try anyway!

Celebrate Day 95: "Read a Road Map Day!"

Today is "Read a Road Map Day!"  This is one of those things my kids will never understand...when I learned to drive I had a 2" thick map book of my city and had to use that to get around.  Boy, does that make me feel old! My boys are kindof obsessed with maps though so I hope to teach them how to actually read a map when they get older, vs relying totally on GPS! ;-)

I realized AFTER I painted this one that it would have been an awesome idea for a camouflage paint! Dang! Next time...I'll add this to my list of future ideas! :-)

Today is "Find a Rainbow Day!"

What a perfect day for a face painter to celebrate!! Today I painted some rainbow ribbons on my hands, using three popular rainbow one stroke cakes!  The top finger is done using TAG "Rainbow Four."  The center finger is Cameleon's "Rainbow Wow," and the bottom is Global's "Leanne's Rainbow!"

Check out our huge assortment of split cakes in the shop today, and find your rainbow!
